South Williamsport, PA. Home of the Little League World Series.
Jenna and I went up to Pa for the weekend to watch a couple of games. I didn't realize how big a deal the LLWS was until I seen it first hand. It was entirely way bigger than anything I expected. The amount of people that traveled from all over the world showed just how big a deal the sport is. I've never been a fan of baseball. I've also thought that "the American sport" is very boring to watch. There is just no excitement in it (my opinion). That was before I watched 12 and 13 year old kids square off the diamond. Just seeing the emotion in the kids eyes was well worth the five hour drive. As for watching the game, there wasn't a dull moment. The fans and I were on the edge of our seats the entire six innings. One of the neat things about watching these kids was that they didn't have a care in the world. They wanted to WIN but they had fun just being apart of Americas game.
Chula Vista, California is the team that we got the pleasure to watch. This team had a mixture of heart, dedication, determination and power. They won the game against Kentucky 15-0 and later went on to beat the Chinese Taipei by a score of 6-3 to win the Little League World Series.
